I'M BETSY

I’m on a mission to help midlife women find their purpose and gain autonomy by building a business of their own.

I'm a heart-centered entrepreneur who believes business is an act of service, and that if you can find purpose-led work, the money will follow.

I survived open-heart surgery at age 7 and faced a lot of loss and waiting before becoming a mom at 36. Optimism has become my superpower.

I have a heightened awareness of the beauty in our natural world. Daily walks boost my mood and I find particular joy in working with flowers and plantings.

MY STORY

I started my first side hustle, Serene & Green, in 2018, as my boys were moving through high school. A chapter in my life was rapidly closing, and figuring out "what's next" suddenly felt very real.

I’d dabbled with some entrepreneurial ideas over the years, but the idea of a creative outlet - and something that was all my own - captivated me. Each step along the way fostered my personal growth. I found the independence and sense of purpose I didn't even realize I was craving.

Keeping up with a day job while building a business is challenging, but the time, energy, and effort has paid off in a myriad of ways. The unexpected bonus has been finding greater fulfillment and personal satisfaction in my day-to-day life.
